ICC – COLLABORATIVE SALES TOOLS

Challenge

Due for completion in late 2016, the International Convention Centre will be Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and events precinct. With a Sales cycle many years in advance of the actual events, the ICC venue Sales team is already spending the majority of their time on the road, looking to build a successful pipeline of Sales before the official launch. With the precinct changing every week, it was vital that they had a rich, interactive Sales tool that could easily updated from a central location.

Response

After reviewing a wide range of remote publishing platforms, alongside the technical capabilities of the wider ICC team, it was decided that the most effective course of action would be the development of a presentation platform using already ubiquitous, not to mention simple to use tools – namely a Powerpoint Master document, centrally distributed via Drop-Box. This still allowed us to deliver a feature rich interactive piece, but doing so in a widely accepted tool that the entire Sales team were comfortable with.

Results

Pushing the boundaries of what was achievable in Powerpoint, we were able to develop a rich tool that felt more like a web application than a linear presentation. Embedded navigational elements allow the user to jump from section to section, just like an application or website, whilst embedded rich media, including animation and video, make the piece feel more complex than it is. The end result is a tool that requires no training to use, is easily updated from a central location and that perfectly showcases the design and technical sophistication that the ICC exudes.
